View a saved GDS layout in Windows My PC
Digital Design Studio 2.0.2: View a saved GDS layout in Windows My PC. Check the selected host, account permissions and current support before use.
Open a local layout
The v2.0.2 Windows viewer reads a saved GDS file from your My PC project and computes its view locally. Sign-in is required; the guest path does not enable this viewer. The earlier 1.0.89.4 package cannot display My PC layouts, so check the installed version. Installing WSL does not enable the older viewer.
Sign in to Digital Design Studio and open the intended My PC project.
Save a non-empty
.gdsor.gdsiifile, at most 4 MiB, inside that project.Open the saved file from Explorer, or use Flow Navigator → Viewers → GDS layout viewer and select its project-relative path.
Choose a structure, inspect the geometry and diagnostics, and toggle the layers you want to see.
If the file changes, reload and inspect it again. After switching projects or signing in again, confirm the file and project before using an earlier view.
This local viewing path does not upload the GDS file to a Cloud project and does not edit the original. Cloud projects have their own save/upload flow. A path outside the open project or a symbolic link/junction is not an accepted way to access another folder.
Read the view correctly
The viewer supports GDSII polygons, supported positive-width paths and cell/array references within its geometry limits. Layer heights are visual defaults, not process thickness. Review diagnostics for omitted content. This viewer does not provide OASIS, layout editing/export, DRC, LVS or manufacturing signoff.
If the viewer is unavailable, check the app version, sign-in, My PC project and graphics support. Keep the original file and export a smaller layout if it exceeds the size or geometry limits.
A valid offline sign-in also permits the 2.0.2 Windows My PC viewer. If you change accounts or projects, reopen the intended saved file before relying on the view. See 2.0.2 platform support.
